Piloting of New TEI Question Types in CAT

We are pleased to inform you that we are introducing new Technology Enhanced Items content, which includes a range of additional question types, into the computer adaptive testing environment. This update will provide students with an opportunity to engage with items mimicking the TEI question types they will see on their NREMT exams. They will now begin to encounter the Options Box, Ordered Response, Drag-and-Drop, and Sequence style questions as pilot questions as part of their adaptive tests.

For students to see these questions, the School Settings must be set to allow question piloting. Additionally, the number of pilot questions they will see per test and whether they appear at the beginning or end of the test will vary depending on the school settings.

Once sufficient data has been collected on these items during the pilot phase, they will be reviewed and refined. After this, they will be integrated into the regular question banks, at which point Instructors will be able to use them to create static tests.

Please let us know if you have any questions about these changes.
